Uvažoval som a napadlo mi, prečo neurobiť súťaž? Takže,  počínajúc včerajškom, 1.3 až do 31.3 budú mať možnosť traja z vás, ktorý  okomentujú niektorý z článkov na koucingblog.org alebo timelifemanagement.org, vyhrať moju knihu  Work Life Balance-ako prežiť krízu a naučiť sa vychutnávať si život. Goleman vydáva svoju prelomovú knihu, ktorá sa venuje problematike emočnej inteligencie. Nie je ani prvým, ani radikálne objavným autorom,ktorý sa rozhodol o danej téme písať. Avšak je prvým, ktorému sa podarilo spustiť vlnu záujmu o emócie, o naše prežívanie. Svojou knihou, okrem iného,spôsobil, že to, čo bolo dovtedy zaznávané a čomu sa nevenovala príliš veľká pozornosť sa dostalo do popredie. A akého veľkého záujmu sa dostalo emočnej inteligencii vtedy, keď ju Goleman identifikoval ako jeden z kľúčových aspektov k dosiahnutiu úspechu? Vtedy spozorneli aj manažéri, podnikatelia, biznismeni, ktorí samozrejme v emočnej inteligencii videl prvok, ktorý by mohol ich podnikanie a biznis dostať do nových obrátok a tak im priniesť zisk. Našťastie spojenie medzi emočnou inteligenciou a úspechom/ziskom nie je také priamočiare ako by si možno niekto želal. Aby sa emočná inteligencia prejavila vo svete podnikania a práce, tak to si vyžaduje istý čas  a sústredenú pozornosť zameranú na jej rozvoj.</p>
<p>Samotný pojem emočnej inteligencie je trochu zavádzajúci a limitujúci. Ak hovoríme o emočnej inteligencii, tak nás logicky napadne, že to asi bude niečo, čo je spojené s emóciami. Avšak to je len povrchné poznanie, ktoré napríklad spôsobuje,že <a href="http://www.koucing.org/emocna-inteligencia2.php?ukaz=4," target="_blank">kurzy emočnej inteligencie</a> sú častokrát veľmi fokusované na zvládanie emócií a potom sa skôr podobajú kurzom riešenia a zvládania konfliktov. Podrobnejšie o tejto problematike pojednávam v <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32a-n66bALA" target="_blank">tomto videu</a>. Avšak sebakontrola je len jednou z častí emočnej inteligencie. A logicky by sa žiadalo dodať, že skôr druhou v poradí. Aby sme totiž niečo mohli kontrolovať, tak by bolo najprv vhodnejšie aby sme to poznali. Je to ako keď sa bojovník chystá na boj. Pred tým , než sa do toho pustí, tak sa snaží, alebo by sa mal snažiť, zistiť si o svojom protivníkovi čo najviac informácií, mal by ho dobre poznať, aby sa mu nestalo, že ho  počas boja niečím prekvapí.</p>
<blockquote><p>Manažérova práca s emočnou inteligenciou nie je len o tom, že svoje emócie ovláda v rozličných,predovšetkým medziľudských interakciách, ale hlavne v tom,že svojím emóciám rozumie.</p></blockquote>
<p>Pochopenie vlastného emočného sveta je teda prvou podmienkou rozvíjania emočnej inteligencie. A tu nám trochu vzniká rozpor s programami rozvoja emočnej inteligencie. Väčšina z nich sa totiž orientuje na prácu s behaviorálnymi prejvami emócií, tzn. pracuje skôr zo zručnosťami, tým čo je viditeľné vo vonkajšom svete aj pre nezávislého vonkajšieho pozorovateľa. Ale to je niečo podobné, ako by sme sa chceli potopeniu Titanicu vyhnúť tým, že odstrániem viditeľnú časť ľadovca. To, čo je nebezpečnejšie sa nachádza pod hladinou. A tam smeruje sebauvedomenie, ako hlavná zložka rozvinutej emočnej inteligencie.</p>
<p>Sebauvedomenie je subtílnejšou časťou emočnej inteligencie, ktoré nie je viditeľné navonok. Pozorovateľ môže vidieť len prejavy sebauvedomenia, ale nevie povedať, ani odhadnúť, na akej úrovni sa človek nachádza. A keďže sebauvedomenie nie je tak &#8220;vidieť&#8221;, tak sa s ním aj ťažšie pracuje.</p>
<blockquote><p>Sebauvedomenie v práci manažéra sa prejavuje tým, že si je sám vedomý toho čo sa s ním deje, čo ho motivuje, aké sú jeho zámery, čo ho ženie dopredu. A to sa mu môže podariť len vtedy, pokiaľ svoju pozornosť pravidelne obracia do svojho vnútorného sveta. Bez toho nie je možné, aby jeho emočná inteligencia rástla.</p></blockquote>
<p>Otázka teda znie: ako rozvíjať sebauvedomenie? Určite nie tým, že si budem pripomínať svoje minulé úspechy, nie tým, že sa budem presviedčať o tom aký som skvelý, ani tým, že sa budem vyhrievať na výslní svojho spoločenského statusu.Tak si možno rozviniem sebavedomie, tak dôležité a preferované v spoločenskom kontakte, ale s mojím seba-<em>uvedomením</em> to ani nepohne.</p>
<p>Pozornosť obrátená do vnútra je jednoduchou odpoveďou na to, ako rozvíjať emočnú inteligenciu. Predstaveme si náš vnútorný svet ako jazykovú učebnicu, čím viac v nej budeme čítať, čím viac sa budeme zoznamovať s tým, čo je v nej napísané, tým sa bude naša znalosť jazyka zvyšovať. Naša jazyková inteligencia sa bude zvyšovať. A nie inak je to aj s rozvojom emočnej inteligencie. Preto  to, čo považujeme  sa emočnú inteligenciu v práci manažéra je len špička ľadovca. To, čo je pre emočnú inteligenciu skutočne dôležité sa odohráva hlboko pod hladinou.</p>
